Identical to the regular Chocolate Bar pickup. Moderate output, smoother midrange and softer attack than the Jail Bar Soft-Top. |
This pickup is identical to the regular Jail Bar pickup. Classic P-90 tone: fat midrange and sweet, round highs.
Open coil allows a little bit more winding than a coil with a closed cover: this pickup can be wound up to 8.2 k with 42 AWG plain enamel wire. |
A little bit brighter than the Chocolate Bar Soft-Top. Same smooth midrange and soft attack, lots of sustain. |

Description
|
This pickup offers a nice, fat midrange honk with sweet, round highs. A great Jazz pickup. A wide, tall, open coil with original-style shaped plastic top plate. Moderate output, mild steel blade, 12" radius. |
Identical to the Twang Bar pickup. Wide, short coil, as in a P-90 pickup. |
This is a special pickup: Two single coils (P-90 and Strat) in a humbucker-size casing!
Available variations
P-90 coil with ceramic bar magnets: The sound is fairly powerful with a tight low end with fast attack.
P90 coil with Alnico 5 bar magnets: Vintage P-90-style sound. Bigger low end and smoother attack.
Strat coil with Alnico 5 rod magnets: The sound is bright and punchy – Strat-like, unlike a split humbucker.
Strat coil with Alnico 3 rod magnets: Vintage-style Strat sound with a smoother attack.
Both coils in series (any variation): The sound is thick with a biting midrange. Nice singing lead. |

The use of a four conductor wire makes it possible to use both coils individually or in series. A mini switch (on-off-on) is included with each pickup.
The P-90 and the Strat coil in the same pickup are RWRP (reverse wound with reverse polarity magnets). You'll also get hum cancellation if you use both P-90 coils or both Strat coils together in a two-pickup setup. |
